Following releases on Audio Addict and a feature on Hospital Records, Tyr Kohout makes his mighty debut on Deviant Audio with a 5-track EP of twisted and techy drum and bass. The label is quickly cementing itself as a leader in forwardthinking bass music and Onyx EP only serves to further this goal.

Still relatively early in his career the burgeoning producer was scouted 2 years ago by label foreman Stranjah. Tyr has spent time honing sound in diverse realms with the objective of being as well-rounded as possible. Regarded by his peers as a “scientist of sound,” Tyr treats production as a technical discipline and artform. He has spent the last 6 years sharpening his sonic toolset - many aspects of which are on full display in this EP.

The album is a showcase of his prowess in sound design in addition to being a mindmelting feast of bangers. These tracks are sure to mesmerize listeners with their precision and memorable hooks. He regards the album as “a huge evolutionary step” in his writing because he was “primarily known for writing very pretty music up until this point.”
